Artificial Turf Dealers

Artificial turf is just simply artificial grass that has somehow taken over the need of natural green grass. From homes to corporations to sports fields, all seem to enjoy the benefits of turf as compared to grass. This has not only been proved useful for consumers, rather it has now become a source of success for people interested in becoming turf dealers. Since turfs are coming to stay for a long time, and gradually being used world wide, it has now become a very popular and successful business enterprise.

Developed companies of artificial turfs have now started programs of training people to become turf dealers and be familiarized with the business and the grass itself, because now that the product is exceeding demands, it is difficult for companies to service all the customers, so they instead look for potential dealers, who they take to be representatives of their company to ensure service to customers. To become a turf dealer, you must have a basic knowledge of turf architectures and along with that you have to have some territories available through which you could strike a deal through the company you would be affiliated with. Companies that manufacture turfs usually sell them through dealers who are trained and certified for this task. The dealers are trained to be able to conduct installation services, customer services and also the manufacturing know-how of the turfs. Some companies interact with other dealers and individual business offer high success rate, warranties, training, market support and also a website for the dealer. Youturf, Dreamturf are some of the major turf industries that provide these benefits to dealers.

With all these information and a through knowledge of your work, you can be eligible for being a representative of a company. Once you are affiliated with a company, it is easier for you to attract customers as you would be claiming a certified status. Individually could create a trust issue.

Now for customers who want to purchase turfs but find it hard to have it directly from a company could do it through these dealers, however you have to be careful that the dealer you select has a verified documentation of his association with the company and does not turn out to be some fake people cheating you. If you browse online for dealers, you may find hundreds of them, but you again have to be very careful by checking their authenticity and their legal status. Artificial Grass Turf

A beautiful, green looking backyard or lawn is what most people love to have, though that comes at a price of  tiring days of mowing, cleaning and maintaining the look, along with handling the muddy mess that is created, if it rains. What if there could be a beautiful, lustrous garden without the cost of maintenance and without days of tiring efforts? There is a perfect object that matches to this wish and that is artificial turfs or generally known as artificial grass, made out of synthetic material such as nylon and polypropylene. The outcome is a natural looking grass carpet that requires almost “no” maintenance and no effort at all. Now that is wish come true for all landscape lovers!

artificial turf supplyArtificial grass turf is now the most preferred form of green landscaping, as it is very much beneficial in terms of maintenance expenditure and hard work. This is because the gallons of water used every day to nourish real grass are saved, since artificial grass obviously requires no watering. Along with water reduction, there is also elimination for the use of pesticides, fertilizers, soil etc. The turf is built to withstand rough sports and also harsh weather conditions. The most benefitting point is that it comes with a decade long of guarantee for stability and durability.

artificial soccer turfAs mentioned before artificial turfs come in two forms, nylon and polypropylene, both which determine the quality of the turf. Polypropylene is a cheap option out of the two, as it does not offer the same durability and smoothness that is given in nylon turfs. Artificial grass is now used not only in sports fields but also for home lawns and backyards. Polypropylene is suitable for areas where there is not much ground play, as its low quality could cause minor injuries, due to the friction between the surface and the skin. Homes with children who love to play in their lawns then the nylon turf would be a better option.

fake grass turfGrass turfs are manufactured by melting the materials at a high temperature, mixed with the dye that gives the green color and ultraviolet stabilizers to protect it from UV rays and finally it is stripped into thin grass like shapes. The core process is just like carpet manufacturing, where all the mixture is fed into a machine that extracts it out in the form of long strands which is then spun into ropes that are finally woven into yarns and spools. Just like carpets these turfs yarns are tufted, into a fabric and then attached with adhesive. To give it a soft feel, some manufacturers also provide a soft pad to give a cushioning affect. When all the process is done, the turfs are rolled and packed to companies for whole sale. The price is then determined by per square foot basis. To install grass turfs, the ground must be leveled and smoothed out. In case of an area where there is often rain fall, a drainage system must also be installed, since artificial turfs do not absorb water. Usually sand is raked within fibers, so that they are able to have a straight structure and do not look matted down. With the improving technology in grass turfs, it is surely taking over the natural grass, which at the same time is also rejecting the natural beauty of nature.

Artificial Turf

Read on to know the history, advantages and disadvantages of artificial turf…

Artificial turf, also known as artificial grass or synthetic grass is a man made surface that is manufactured using synthetic materials and resembles natural grass. It is very commonly used for sports that are usually played on real grass, but recently it has also found place in residential lawns and commercial complexes.

Artificial Turf – Background

David Chaney led the team of researchers who were responsible for creating the artificial turf. In 1965, artificial turf was installed in the newly built Astrodome in Houston, Texas. It was at this point that the artificial turf gained a lot of prominence. By 1970s, they became widespread and were installed in both indoor and outdoor stadiums that were used for baseball and gridiron football in the United States and Canada. The prominent stadiums that underwent this change were the Riverfront Stadium at Cincinnati, Three Rivers Stadium at Pittsburgh and Veterans Stadium at Philadelphia.

Artificial Turf – Present Scenario

The dawn of the 21st century brought with it new artificial surfaces using sand and rubber infill were developed. These ‘next generation’ turf brought in the concept of ‘Artificial Grass’ and are virtually undistinguishable from a distance. Playing on these new turfs is considered to be as safe as real grass and safer during the colder seasons.

artificial turfMany clubs have already installed the new synthetic grass as a part of an all weather training capability while many clubs who still have the real grass fields are considering changing to the new turf because of the various advantages that it offers. Football clubs in Europe too are considering the artificial turf in an effort to reduce the maintenance costs and also reduce the number of matches that are canceled in winters due to a frozen pitch.

Synthetic turf has also brought about significant changes in the game of hockey. They were introduced on the hockey pitch in 1970s and now competitions in the western countries are played on the artificial turf. These turfs have increased the speed of the game and have also brought about a change in the shape of the hockey sticks to allow for new techniques like reverse stick trapping and hitting.

Since the middle of 1990s the artificial turfs have moved into the residential and commercial landscaping artificial lawns. The main reason for this is because firstly the quality and the variety offered by the artificial turfs have increased rapidly. Secondly, water conservation organizations are being very vocal about the role the artificial turfs will play in saving water.

Artificial Turf – Advantages

The advantages of the artificial turf are as follows:

  • artificial grassThe main advantage of artificial turf can be seen in areas where the conditions to grow natural grass is very hostile like areas that are very dry and arid or receive very sunlight.

  • Artificial turf is ideal for holiday homes and elderly home owners where maintenance of real grass is not a feasible option.

  • Artificial turn is also very suitable for swimming pool areas and roof gardens.

  • Artificial turf is also an excellent option where cost plays a major factor. Artificial turf last beautifully for ten years.

Artificial Turf – Disadvantages

The disadvantages of the artificial turf are as follows:

  • The cuts, abrasions and burns caused on the artificial turf are of a greater degree when compared to natural grass. This is because of the friction caused between turf and the human skin. This becomes an issue in many sports specially football where the sliding maneuvers are common and clothing does not cover the entire body.

  • Players who play regularly on the artificial turf suffer from a medical condition known as the ‘Turf Toe.

  • The abrasions caused by the artificial turf have been known to cause a higher incidence of MSRA infections.

  • Some varieties of artificial turf require infill of silicon sand or granulated rubber that is made from recycled car tires. These materials usually carry heavy metals which can leach into the water table.

  • Periodical disinfection is required as pathogens are not broken down by any natural process.

  • The artificial turf becomes much hotter under the sun when compared to natural grass.
